I moved to Australia this last year, I've been living and working in the outback desert.
I have been experimenting different ways of representing it through painting.
It is a very rugged and rough country so I wanted the painting to feel the same with leaving the brush stroke and paper apparent in opposition to very smooth lines and bright colours.
My main inspiration were (of course) aboriginal artists but also David Hockney's landscape work.
