Social System Design | Purpose of Zoo
The objective was to understand the purpose of zoo how they operate and manage. We need to look at the over all system of zoo.
Question : How to make this system sustainable?
We visited two zoo one Kankaria Zoo, Ahmedabad and Indroda Nation Park, Gandhinagar.
The system loop and objective of both the zoo were quite different.
Kankaria's zoo: their objective was to safeguard the endangered species and breed further.
Indroda zoo: their main focus is to safegurad the animals who got injured on road accidents or during Utrayan.
After study of zoo system, Central Zoo authority, wildlife protection act we did meaning making exercise.

To understand the system of zoo human body has been taken as a metaphor and different parts of human body are named as parts of zoo system.
When the parts are not properly looped and placed what we get is a image like above, which have no meaning overall. But when parts are arranged properly what we get is a meaning like image below a human body which functions properly with all the parts at right place.
