I have developed more conceptual art for the 'Pond Life' project which I have been working on since February 2014.

My approach to this project resulted in focusing my attention to animal skins. In this particular example, I focused on the toad. Known for its rough and uneven exterior, the frog is an amphibian which has more to it than meets the eye. I wanted to show a very close up image to give the idea that the toad is under the surveillance of a human with a microscopic device.

Below is an image of what began as a lightly stenciled image of toad warts up close. I then outlined the areas which represented shaded areas and defining edges to remind myself of where it was necessary to emphasise the proportions of the skin nodules. The size of each meticulously drawn circle varies in size and skews to emphasise the perspective of the drawing overall.
